Who can benefit from Sports Massage?

Whether you work in an office and spend a lot of time sat at a desk, have a job involving repetitive movements, e.g. lifting or bending, or play sport professionally or in your spare time, sports massage can help you. It is a deep form of soft tissue work that can be used to reduce pain and discomfort, aide recovery from injury, help improve flexibility and range of motion, relieve tension and stiffness, release trigger points and adhesions, help relaxation and improve psychological well being.  It is also beneficial for those involved with sports to help prepare for or recover from events, prevent injury and improve performance.

Many conditions can be treated, including:

- Sports Injuries

- RSI

- Back Pain

- Sciatica

- Tension Headaches

- Plantar Fasciitis

A full assessment will be undertaken to ensure treatment is appropriate for you, and a variety of massage techniques will be used to ensure the best outcomes.  These may include Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM), Soft Tissue Release (STR) and Muscle Energy Technique (MET), along with more traditional types of massage technique.  Kinesiology Taping may also be used, where appropriate.  If you are unsure about the suitability of sports massage for you, or would like to discuss your condition further please do not hesitate to get in touch.
